Looks like the U.S. has elected as president A senile political influence peddler who's 47 year legislative legacy is the destruction of minority communities.
You could blame how poorly informed people are but it seems more likely that the people themselves are as corrupt as the man they elected. There are a wide variety of corruptions. Some are just following self interest such as corporations with a vested interest in globalism and corporatism and aren't tied to traditional industries. Some are corrupted by the self serving belief that emotional intelligence is real. Some by the fear of the unknown. Some have been corrupted by empty ideology and the multitude of cults that have sprung up in the last few decades. Whatever the reason demonstrative competence is no longer the means to rise in the hierarchy. It's a sad day for civilization.

Absolutely. People are misinformed, especially on history and civics. They are thinking emotionally and not rationally. Wherever woke progressives control the education system, it’s seems the only subject they want to teach is sex ed.

As I said it isn't so much that they ate misinformed as they lack the emotional maturity to endure the pain of facing the fact that their emotions are by definition ignorant.
The true tragedies that define our intellectual age is the misguided denunciations of freewill based on a misunderstanding of the meaning of determinism and the acceptance of emotional intelligence as a possibility. The cognitive dissonance necessary to have those concepts live peacefully alongside the dominant culture paradigm of social constructivism and social engineering is staggering. Someone must have the freewill to determine what social engineering is best.
The next intellectual tragedy is an emotional interpretation of social Darwinism. The assumption is that since are feelings are evolved responses they must be a guide to how we should act. The absurdity is that our intellectuals go on to make a case that love is good and hate bad in denial of the very basis of evolutionary theory. That basis being that the blind clock maker has reasons. What should be obvious is that our instincts or feelings evolved in a world without productivity or competence hierarchy.
Most people assume that intellectuals have risen above the corrupting influence of greed, the will to power, and other vices of normal people. The delusion is shattered not only by the income they feel they are entitled to but by the currency they most desire. The currency of academia and by extension the intellectual world is prestige. Seeking prestige can be as corrupting as any other Avarice.
