It definitely is a matter of two very different visions on what direction we should take our country in, as well as an unfair overly harsh criticism of Trump compared to Biden.

Personally I found Harris a bit off putting. I'm already under the impression women can already do what they want, so I don't view race and sex as an "accomplishment".

There most definitely is a divide. It really can't be healed only by one party. If Trump and Biden had run their campaigns by working together to fix the problems instead of using COVID, BLM, and civil unrest as a backdrop to frame their opponent, we may have had a much better chance at moving past this.

They didn't.

Even the simplicity of mask wearing was made political. Constantly hyping each others flaws through negative advertising and sensational reporting by MSM fueled the fires and furthered the divide.

I strongly dislike the tribalism mentality of "us" vs "them" and the ridiculousness of identity politics. A little nuance and bipartisanship would be refreshing, which is something I don't see happening under Trump or Biden.

I actually find Trump as someone who shows his true character more, minus the fluffy stuff, and as embarrassing as it is at times, it's at least feels unquestionably something Trump truly believes rather than just words to make you "like" him.

Considering words are often disingenuous, character is irrelevant, and identity politics is a joke, I'm left with actions.

TRUMP

• COVID: Herd Immunity, Operation Warp Speed for a Vaccine, Open Up Safely, and Protect the most Vulnerable

• RACE RELATIONS: Banning Critical Race Theory, Ending Affirmative Action type Programs, as well as working with groups like BLEXIT to help bring capital to at risk communities and schools.

• CIVIL UNREST: Law and Order on the streets, Support for Law Enforcement, and Federal Charges to violent criminals

BIDEN

• COVID: Stricter lockdowns, Contact Tracing, Vaccine, Mask and other Health mandates, working more with CDC

• RACE RELATIONS: Promoting BLM, antiracism, and Critical Race Theory, Police Reform? (This one is a flip flop stance. He has said no to Defund. Harris has said "reimagined" policing, both have been vague as to what exactly their plan is)

• CIVIL UNREST: I'm at a loss on this one. It has been painted as "Trumps America" by the Biden campaign and "Bidens America" by Trump. Both sides have stakes in this, yet the Biden campaign appears to be supportive of the protests and therefore the civil unrest that often times follows them.

This, of course, is just my own perspective of the two candidates. I've been feeling for a while now that Trump is the better choice for me, so it's definitely biased. Ideally, I'd like to see a candidate that could be a better bipartisan representative. I just feel that there are too many uncertainties with Biden as well as a few radical changes his top supporters are vying for. (Like the potential to stack the court, extremely high taxes that could drive our businesses overseas, phasing out fracking and big oil that take away our energy independence, and the list goes on)
