The article seems to be talking about "the homeless struggling with addiction and/or mental health issues":
A group in Maple Ridge says it is stepping in to push homeless people struggling with addiction and/or mental health issues out of what it considers gaps in legislation and policing.
I sympathise with the people in Maple Ridge; I would hate to see a row of tents on my street. Meanwhile, even if they manage to drive the homeless out of their town, that only means that someone else will have to deal with those homeless people in their town, no?
What would be a better solution to reduce the number of the homeless, I wonder.

I believe what we call the “homeless” problem is really an addiction problem. Few people are homeless because they lost a job. The vast majority of tent city residents are addicted to hard drugs. Progressive politicians refuse to take action against addicts, either to restore order in the streets, or to provide them with the help they need. So the problem just grows and grows.
The woman in the incident was a guest in the house in question, and stayed years, filling the residence with other addicts and becoming a squatter. She refused to leave and authorities refused to remove her. It’s common for progressive administrators to support squatters by simply looking the other way.
The solution isn’t to tolerate lawlessness — out of a sense of progressive “empathy” — but rather to provide addicts with treatment options.
Many of these people fled Alberta over the past 5 years due to BC's abundant access to welfare services, and Alberta's defunding of some social services

Why does this bish Bossley think these people have any obligation to help these freeloaders.
The entire problem comes from the self serving public compassion of people like Bossley.
