LINK Black Lives Matter protests were overwhelming peaceful, research finds
When the Department of Homeland Security released its Homeland Threat Assessment last week, it emphasized that self-proclaimed white supremacist groups are the most dangerous threat to U.S. security. But the report misleadingly added that there had been “over 100 days of violence and destruction in our cities,” referring to the anti-racism uprisings of this past summer.
In fact, the Black Lives Matter uprisings were remarkably nonviolent. When there was violence, very often police or counterprotesters were reportedly directing it at the protesters.

Bet they were, and good for them. But the almost 2 billion dollars in damage is another part of the story, and a pretty big part, at that.
Re: white supremacist groups, I’m sure they exist, not disputing that. But where are they? Can anyone show the damage that they caused to the US since May? They are another side-story that takes away from the reality of the almost 2 billion dollars worth of damage that the non-peaceful wing of blm caused.
Re: violence directed at protesters, that’s another spot where it gets twisted. People who start breaking into stores, looting stores, burning buildings, beating defenseless people, attacking police with bats, Molotov cocktails, etc., are no longer protestors. They have chosen to become criminals/terrorists. Attempts by police to prevent them from committing crimes are not violence directed at protestors, but violence directed at criminals/terrorists.
