And for their age and physical condition why would they? And knowing Trump, if anyone voiced a concern, he would tell them to stay behind. None would. Some people here don't have a clue of what it takes to be on the cutting edge of life.

I think about the only way to guarantee you won't get COVID-19 is to die of something else first!
As the left tries to tell us that the president is going to die, this evidence that he is doing okay gives his supporters hope that the election (and the country) can be saved from the clutches of the far left... that's worth a small risk!

That is their job... they need to protect him.
Furthermore considering that the CDC infection fatality rate is now about 0,65% for the whole population... and that the secret service guys are all young and fit, putting them in the 0,2% risk range.... They are about as much at risk of dying from a motorcar accident while protecting him.

@TheMiddleWay yes - but it should not come from anyone outside the administration - someone on his staff - his VP, Mitch McConnell...and family members who have an active role in the administration should have made clear to him the bad optics of doing that on top of the possibility that he might infect someone. There is no reason he could not have done a live appearance via skype or some such technology.
There is no eliminating the risk of infection. Trump can wipe his ass with the wrong hand and people will jump all over him. Get a life people. Read the data and stop being frightened little school girls. My God! If this is the new normal I want out.

@TheMiddleWay I’m sure they all knew what they were doing. Don’t believe everything you read. He’s an intelligent man. There is a much larger picture here that I am trying to convey and that is the future of freedom in this country and the massive government overreach due to the pandemic. The mask mandates are only part of the problem. I believe the science behind herd immunity. If you don’t, fine. But again, fear is the ultimate control device for government to use and they are taking advantage of it in spades. I’m done.
Hmm ... Some questions come to mind: Weren't they following proper safety protocol in the car? Could the drivers have volunteered rather than have been ordered? Does this doctor actually know how the Secret Service does things? Doe he know whether or not they sought expert advice? After all, doesn't the Secret Service go out of their way to ensure the safety of themselves and the president at all times insofar as this is possible? Rather than assume they had no clue what they were doing, couldn't he have assumed that they did their homework as always?
