Feel free to reply to any comment by clicking the "Reply" button.While I am not insensitive to the people who complained that some of the tear gas seeped into their businesses or dwellings, I can't imagine that would no be preferable to their business being burned down or the smoke from the fires set by the rioters seeping into their dwellings. As someone who has experienced tear gas (as I'm sure @timon_phocas has as well), I know it is unpleasant, but it certainly isn't as harmful as smoke inhalation or potentially dying in a fire.

Mayor Wheeler has his head in the sand. He expects the DA to charge the criminals - that's not happening. He thinks that no tear gas will de-escalate the riots - that's not going to happen. He needs to realise that he's over his head and needs to let the police do their job unhindered by his involvement.
