i mean, the production value is amazing, but, who would spend all this money in doing this propaganda piece? It's so... so... chicana.

From a cinematic point of view, it's typical Chicano: references everywhere: the mock La Cucaracha song, the grave of Chapulín Colorado, the Día de Muertos Skull, the Mariachi. They look and research these Mexican things, and experience them from their American perspective and think they know what they're about. It's like if you listen to Mozart and judge it from your 21st century perspective. You don't really get it. A few were funny, and that's all fine and good. i have no problem with cultural appropriation. It's just.. how can I say it? They were going for tacos, but it tastes like Taco Bell.

There was only one Mexican thing in here (beyond the cultural appropriation, which is empty and superficial) and that's the stealing of the guitar. Now, THAT's Mexican. Everything, everything else was an American making propaganda, it was clear as day. And the rooster thing at the end made no sense. What's with the feather blowing towards the people? Those were more feather than the rooster would have, but it still was okay. No way that could have happened. Fail.

Now culture-wise. Stop getting us confused. Chicanos are NOT Mexicans. Chicanos are like foster children traumatized about finding their parents and going all Anastasia throughout their lives or something. Listening to Rocío Durcal, rocking out her style proudly, only to find out she's from Spain... so give up on them, only to find out later that we still grew up listening to her wheter she was from Spain or not because we don't care about that--they just don't know. To quote Brenda from Scary Movie, they are as fake as press-on nails.

Plus, they wouldn't give a shit if we were being attached by rockets, and we wouldn't give a shit if they got all deported. Those who leave and send money, those are men who wanted to get the fuck away from their wives and children. And they were happy to trade the asshole for more free money they ever had. They just don't know what they're talking about.

Now from the political perspective. I don't support Chicanos. Fuck 'em. That's what they said to us when they decided to flee to the US instead of helping us fix our country. You see al the chicano pussies "protesting" and "fighting against the machine"? They only do it because they know they are pampered babies in the first world. Bring them to protest here, where they would disappear, brutally murdered and be found in dirt days later. Plus I don't like how they are okay with becoming criminals for life with every breath they take on your soil, and taking advantage of your generosity. They are just leeches. And in our culture, we don't care about race or blood. We don't hold those people dear at all because we are not a unified country. Why would we? Mexico is shit. And we hate each other because we behave like crabs in a bucket. pff It's just so unreal. So out of touch with this country.

Hey, at least they got the right accents, and couldn't hear a Chicano accent there, so good for them. And I appreciate you letting me know of this piece. It was fun to watch, I did laugh a couple of times. I really liked the concept of them falling from the sky. Other than that... i saw no real value in it. It's cold propaganda as far as I can tell...

I hope you don't hate me for not liking it heh heh The critique was based on that mindset I got when I read the "maybe you could extract clips from there" which is awesome on your part, much appretiated. But when I saw it, it's just nothing a Mexican would care for... you know, deeply. @A1fredo Oh, wow ... you read way too much into that. I just thought you might be able to use some of the clips from it to illustrate your points about the culture wars. I don't agree with the politics of the video, but I find it entertaining.

You're absolutely right though. My best friend was Latino but he hated Mexicans, so I kind of get your point about the Chicano vs Mexican split.

Also, I don't understand the ending with the chicken either. I think it was intended to be a kind of insult against Trump.

CulturalWarRoom is supposed to be like the backroom where we plan, and CultureWarsRenaissance is meant to be like some storefront to showcase projects that help our side, or a leftist-topic-free heaven so you can enjoy videos and stuff without hearing about racism, or sexism, and other bullshit, and help promote like-minded creators. If you wanna see it in the ugliest light, it could be like a way for us to positively target media that we want to promote, like the way the left does that but for cancel culture.

I don't quite get your question... "v script"? I already created a preview of the first episode,. where the clips by themselves take 27:43, and with the script integrated, it's a total of 33:23. But it's a total of 9:20 being spoken by my computer's reading voice for the script alone. The difference is because it's spoken over some of the clips during quiet moments. I don't know if that answers your question?

Every episode is from 23-30 mins of footage, with about the same 10 mins of script, alternating voice overs and me on camera. I try to make myself as subtle as positive, just trying to connect the narrative of the clips and guide the audience trough the reasoning. I think it's better to show than to tell, and us Mexicans really trust English-speaking people way more than some random Mexican guy. We are very much like crabs in a bucket, sadly...

What I meant, you mostly answered. I watched the ~14 min. video at the bottom of the page and noted that many or most of the clips are in English. Are most of the clips from American or other English sources?

Also, for clarity, when I said "looks good," I literally meant that it is very well cut together and aesthetically pleasing artistically. Well done, and I can't wait to watch it roll out and share it around.

@govols Thanks, man. I appreciate it. Yes, the vast majority of clips are in English. Actually, pretty much it's the first episode that''s Mexican-centric, and there's a few references to our conntry in episodes 2, 3, 4 and 5. Maybe a minute total in each, practically nothing. As far as I can remember right now, episodes 6, 7 and 9 are all English. 8 is all Spanish because it's exclusive for the cartoon. I plan on subtitling all of them. I know I will for 2 to 9. The first one is just too Mexican. Everything would get lost in translation. Too many cultural refrrrnces. In both language and concept. Plus it's already formatted in a way where I translate English culturally into Spanish, so doubling the translating would create ridiculous results. Actually, I struggled with that decision a lot. Then I tried lol I actually may consider making English versions for 4 to 9 because those may be useful in the English context too. North Korea and China, and Feminism and Propaganda would be just redundant by now for the market. But in episode four, I go comparing Religion and Politics as the same thing, and suggest the division of Majority vs. outcasts instead. In episode five, I explain how we hold information we are not aware of and the lacks of morality in intellectuals. In six, I explain what uss, emotional weirdos are like, and why. In seven, that's great because it's the general corruption of academia, politics, the media, and most important, the usage of psychology as a weapon in social conflicts. Eiight, I might. Not sure yet. I could use the Japanese version, and translate subs. I really think the concept there is super important, but that one may be too much work. I'm not sure yet. Number nine is AI, automation, how machines actually are proficient in art, and sexbots, leading out with how men and women aren't getting along, so the need for those sexbots. And then, bum. Episode ten. I saw this clip of the China Olympic Games in October 2019, that really look like the New World Order Inauguration, so I was thinking if including all those issues as one. That may be the most beneficial. But harder to pull off. (That's why episode seven is so important lol Where I discredit the whole "you're crazy" and "you're a conspiracy theorist". I go against psychology hard. And really got great footage for that.
