DO THEY WANT TO LOSE?

Could be.

Conventional wisdom has it that presidential candidates play to their base in the primaries, then veer towards the center for the main election. So how to explain Gropey Joe? He’s been a wishy-washy centrist for his whole political career. He stood out at the debates simply by not seeming quite as insane as the rest of the Looney Troop. Now… gosh Joe, we hardly know you. Which is appropriate since Joe probably doesn’t know himself either, or much of anything else. But it begs the question: what do the people with their hands up his butt, working him like a sock puppet, have in mind?

Do they really think a national campaign can succeed by promising to raise taxes into the stratosphere; destroy the energy industry; bankrupt the country for a climate agenda no one really believes in, (except for the people who also believe in unicorns and pixie dust); destroy the suburbs and all that goes with them—safe neighborhoods, good schools, and property values that constitute the major investment of many who have moved there; and a swarm of new agencies, commissions, regulations and restrictions on everything we do. To say nothing of force feeding 31 genders on us, and openly supporting riots in the streets and eliminating law enforcement(and, most recently, the Pentagon.)

A visit to www.joebiden.com/ offers myriad “plans” for every facet of our lives, each of them a different study in equality of outcome. The message throughout: everyone deserves everything, and if everyone can’t afford it, no one gets it. The left would say they just want to share the wealth. What they really want is to destroy wealth and share the misery. They used to be careful not to say that. They were careful to parse their language enough that they never had to come out and tell us what they really believed and what they planned for us.

Those days are gone. They have dragged Gropey Joe so far to the left, Barak Obama can scarcely recognize him. Essentially, their message to the part of the country that makes it work, the part they consider deplorable: “We’re going to destroy you and everything you hold dear.” And they’re proud of it.

So, do they want to lose? Yeah. I think they do. For one thing, the hard left is more than willing to go down in flames once, twice, three times, if they can advance their agenda a little bit each time. What they are never willing to do, which is what separates them from the old-guard Democrats, is compromise, even when they’re lying about it. Hillary Clinton might protest, “The true patriot is the one who raises their voice in protest against injustice,” but the current crop of radicals has no interest in wrapping themselves in the flag, mouthing patriotic platitudes, or trying to win your vote. They tell you outright, “We’re going to burn it down.” And they will. Or at least they will try.

But more to the point, I think they’ve already conceded this election. A Biden victory might be useful, but only if they were still working within the political process, corrupt it though they try. But I think they’ve abandoned the political process altogether. These past few months, we’ve seen rehearsals for what they have planned. They’re going to mount a full-scale uprising, and in order to trigger such a development, a somnambulant Joe Biden just won’t fill the bill. What’s to rebel against that? They need Trump back in the White House. If you thought the “resistance” was bad the first time, get ready for war. It’s coming.
