For lesbians this is hard hit. They had to fight with family members for years about not wanting to live according to heteronormative dictates about only sleeping with the opposite sex to now face this same shaming from their own community. It is why the Get the L Out is a growing movement. Lesbians have now had to create institutions like The Pussy Church of Modern Witchcraft in order to have a female-only space that is legal as it is a religion and not a business or organization.

I have often wondered what basis a person who believes gender to be 100% social construct has for their gender preference beyond shallow physical attraction... Does that cheapen the bond of an intimate relationship? I guess their answer is that gender preference is bigotry, so the question is irrelevant.
So, would it be homophobic of me to refuse to have sex with a man?
Would it be heterophobic for a lesbian to refuse to have sex with me?
To me, this seems like a very dangerous rabbit hole...

That's the one we're down only it's not so much happening to men, either heterosexual or homosexual, as it is lesbians. Lesbians who will not have sex with someone who still has a penis have been called transphobic and shamed. On Reddit the accounts r/xx and r/actual lesbians have called it hate speech if you discuss "trans lesbians" or state your preference is for an actual woman. r/actual women and r/lesbians have banned lesbians for saying something as simple as "I believe trans women are women but I prefer someone of my same sex".

@DaveO276 None of us started off negatively towards transpersons. It is only when people threaten your job, your sexual agency, your freedom of speech, and your safety that you begin to fight back.
