An Austrian friend of mine in his retirement tracked the disease evolution in dozens of countries... they all follow the same Weibull distribution curve...
Very encouraging and it means the pandemic is almost over in the US and will be over worldwide in a few months.
Good news for the citizens of the world. Bad news for those who wanted to extract advantage out of this.

I think that's a bit premature.
@WilyRickWiles That is why I like Weibull distributions.
They present so many things in nature.
They have infinite long tails... people will be getting Covid 19 years to come... people are still getting SARS 1.
However the deaths and risks will follow the same curve as all other strains.
No, not an increase of 9000. That's not what it says.

That's the headline. They rounded 8,900 or 8,900-something to 9,000. Either way, it's a lot and a huge increase.
@WilyRickWiles it's an increase of about 3k, from nearly 6k to nearly 9k. The headline is framed to misrepresent the data.
