Amy Klobuchar has graciously “withdrawn” herself from contention for the VP position with Creepy Joe, which wasn’t much of a sacrifice given that she was widely rumored to be out of the running anyway. She saw the future, no great trick if you’re a Democrat in these revolutionary times. Biden is going to be obligated to choose a black woman.
It won’t be Stacy Abrams, but she’s made enough of a nuisance of herself that the only way to ignore her will be to pick someone of the same race and gender (because those are the most important qualifications you can have.) Kamala Harris is too annoying, and she was already rejected once by the voters. Keisha Bottoms, Atlanta’s mayor, was looking good until Rayshard Brooks sullied her image. There may be others, but if the Democrats suffer from a paucity if viable candidates, they’re really running on empty where minority women are concerned. Which is why I think they’ll turn to the one person they can count on whenever there’s a dirty job or a suicide mission calling: Susan Rice.
In her own way she’s been auditioning for the job all along. A couple weeks ago she tried to revive Russia for one more spin around the block, and today she borrowed a line from Leon Trotsky when she said Trump voters belong on the trash heap of history. There aren’t too many more boxes she needs to tick off: black, woman, evokes the glorious Communist past and smears half the country in the process. What else do you need to be president?
What’s that, you say? I meant Vice President? No, actually, I meant President. I can already hear the piper playing a tune. It’s called “Benghazi,” and he’s going to want to be paid.
