Just watched Arielle's latest video about the trans woman who is managing dysphoria through therapy. I thought it was a great video and definitely gave some valid things to think about and consider. Of course, I inevitably stumbled across a trans person telling Arielle to "stay in her lane" because she's a cis lesbian. I know that's not anything new, but it still really annoys me.

Arielle has a right to an opinion and to be able to express it. If trans people exclud cis people from the conversation, no one is going to get anywhere. How does shutting cis people out in anyway help them learn about and accept trans people if every time they speak up they get berated and told to shut up? If anything, it makes the divide bigger. If cis people aren't allowed to be apart of the conversation and have opinions on trans topics, then trans people should "stay in their lane" and not speak up on topics that affect cis men and women.

For one example, if we're following the logic of people staying out of topics that don't directly involve them, trans women shouldn't try and express their views on abortion since they can't ever carry a child. Would the same people who are pissed at Arielle for expressing her thoughts and opinions tell a trans woman to stay in her lane for expressing a view about something she can never experience or would that just be ridiculous because everyone has a right to an opinion and to express it regardless of whether you agree or how much the topic at hand directly impacts the person of said opinion? (Not saying that trans women have as much say on this topic as cis women; just using it as an example of the thought process of excluding an "outsider" for their opinion on an issue) I think we know their answer to that. For some trans people, it seems like they feel they are the only ones who can have opinions about anything and everything.

I'm not trying to shit on trans people (I think anyone reading this probably knows that), I'm a trans man myself, but gender identity doesn't stop me from calling out bs when I see it and excluding cis people is a steaming pile of crap.

Keep up the awesome work, Arielle. Your videos are some of the best out there when it comes to LGBT topics in my opinion.

Sorry if this isn't the place to post this, apparently I needed to vent my frustrations lol.
