I wonder if anyone has noticed that Butch ( apologies to those who hate the term) are misgendered on the daily. They don’t want to be men, but they often recognize their masculinity and are sympathetic or understanding of those who wrongly mis-gender them. I’ve never seen anyone get furious over the matter. Over the years. And it’s been happening since the beginning of time. Yes sir. Thank you sir. Have a good day sir. May I help you sir? Caring about how people perceive you is normal, but obsessing over it and thinking people are evil when they make a mistake is really too much. After all you have to reeeeeeeeeeally care what people think in order to be obsessed with imposing speach on folks who are often making very innocent mistakes.
Do some people misgender to be antagonistic? Of course. as$$holes are copious. The best way to deal in this situation , the most practical coping mechanisms are: caring less about what strangers think, informing and finding true friends and family who accept you as you are etc., is going to be everyone’s best bet for happiness.
