The vulnerabilities of needed supplies of power are known by many people, perhaps not the sheeple.
An example:

Of course that type of prediction assumes that those in power destroy any competition by people who organize (or go at it alone) to solve the power scarcity problem on their own.
The simple fact that Power Producers Organize to form Cartels is lost on a lot of people. The forming of a Cartel is done to Monopolize (as best as possible) a target market. Once the Cartel is formed there is then an ability (a power) to restrict or flood the market at will.
Restricting the market results in rising prices.
Flooding the market results in lower prices.
None of that happens with competition.
Electric transportation fuel is a competitor for petroleum (it is not "fossil fuel" ) powered transportation.
Solar, Wind, Geo, Lunar, Bio, etc., is competition for Electric Grid Power Markets.
A simple way to look at this is by applying what I coined as Joe's Law:
Power produced into oversupply reduces the price of power while purchasing power increases because power reduces the cost of production.
The opposite is clearly true.
Power reduced into undersupply increases the price of power while purchasing power decreases because lack of power increases the cost of production.
The price of oil during a managed scarcity managed by the Petroleum Cartel can reach record highs when there are no competitive options.
The price of Purchasing Power (money) during a managed scarcity by the Central Bank Frauds can reach record highs when there is no competitive options.
What is the price of a bitcoin when a bitcoin was first offered in the Purchasing Power Markets?
Why are useful and needful things forced into managed scarcity, and by who and what army?

The CCP (or whichever name names the responsible ones in power) or Home Grown Treasonous Employees of the CCP may get away with murdering some of the people some of the time, but at some time these sheep are going to be sheared once too often; perhaps.
