Has anyone noticed a pause in the "Identity Politics" rhetoric in the news lately? When we started working on this website 4+ months ago, sites like CNN had lots of articles that pushed the narrative that straight, white men were the main cause of distress for those where were not straight, white men. However, it feels as if they have now turned it off (e.g., except for the "Trump is bad" articles, it's hard to find examples of "All straight, white men bad" ones.). Has it gone underground? I checked Google trends and it seems like interest is still growing in "Identity Politics".

General election coming. They want votes and identity politicking is a sure way to lose them.

Well ... regardless of what they say; “Straight White Man Bad...” there’s still an awful lot of them in the field.
How long can you get a “Straight White Man” to badmouth ... HIMSELF?

Also ... as the Campaign gets under way, there STILL seems to be quite a few “White Mans” running and most of them seem to be essentially “Straight”. Does the Left REALLY want to Shoot Themselves in the Foot given the Lunatic Leanings of many of the “Alternate” Candidates?

Currently their best probables look like Bernie or Biden ... you know ... “Straight White Mans”

The Left Base is many things synonymous with Stupid and even Pretty Stupid BUT the “Leadership” of the Left has a Clear Agenda but actually never qualified as being Stupid. Once the field shakes out, if most of the remaining candidates are NOT “White Mans” then you can expect their rhetoric to ratchet up again but in the meantime I’m pretty sure they’re simply keeping their options open.

Did you say News... 😆

What's the point of asking people to speculate about something like this? How about some data?

I stopped watching the news after 2016.

3

It is hard to have your top two Candidates for the democrat nomination Be White Males.....While bashing White Males. Temporary respite to prevent friendly fire...

2

The Dems top 2 are old white guys. Why wouldn’t they change their tune?

It may have something to do with the accelerating decline of viewership among leftist/liberal news outlets.
For instance, CNN has just announced the voluntary buyout (lay-off) of 100 employees as their ratings plummet to a four year low! They are simply not reaching as many people as they used to.

Great comment - thanks!

My thoughts exactly.

Just wait, we are on the eve of election year and it's the Dems best tool pre-election phase. Look back to 2014-2015 for reference.

Fresh article might explain one possible reason.

After the Boomers Are Gone, the Bloodshed Begins [americanthinker.com]

and in fewer than 20 years there will no "boomers" left. There is some food for thought.

I can't say I ever really noticed a whole lot of it except when brought to attention for purposes of mockery. If its public presentation is declining it's because the earlier runs were trial balloons. When it turned out that the backlash wasn't surrender of the guilt-ridden but instead a rise of white-identity, they pulled the balloon down. Not well enough marinated for the fire, yet.

I can't make a qualified observation or opinion on this because I just don't watch television "news" programming very much. I'll take your word for it though. If there is a pause in the "evil white male patriarchy" narrative it might be for the following reasons: Joe Biden running for POTUS and with the real campaign season more than a year out ahead they're saving it for later. By then they'll have a much better idea about who is a viable candidate and who is not. Regardless, I have been saying for some time that none of the declared candidates will win the nomination. They are just place holders for - are you ready for this?.....dramatic music....the DNC will draft Michelle Obama. She will be the Dem nominee. Then the evil white male narrative will begin again in great earnest.

probably their most formidable candidate. But, think about this. She's said very little and generated some pretty good controversy. What happens when she exposes herself on the national stage where her ideas actually matter? Boom!

Personally, I think the Obamas are just like the Clintons. The more reasonable ones in the family are actually the Presidents. I think Michelle, like Hillary, is more problematic. In Hillary's case, I think people saw how blind ambition led to a lack of conviction. She'd say or do anything to be President. I'd bet all of my money (not that much) she'd be a Republican if it would make her president. Michelle, I think she's even more of an activist, and I think she'd be more aggressive as an activist in the white house. We'd see militarization of the parties, and it may spark that big bloody war we're all afraid of.

About the only things Michelle Obama and Hillary Clinton have in common is they are both "democrats" and that their husbands were once POTUS. I completely agree with your analysis of H Clintons utter lack of commitment to anything except her desire to become POTUS. By comparison I see Michelle O as being very much committed to a particular set of ideas about Gov't and Structural change "fundamental" change in the social and political landscape of USA. Michelle O is more of an "activist" than Hillary ever was. That is to say Michelle O doesn't seem to have personal ambition so much as she focuses on "fundamentally changing" America. Hillarys' path to POTUS was strictly a political strategy. Michelle on the other hand would be very much a "populist" candidate. Michelle O is Black, Female, hates America (as counterpoint to the whole MAGA phenomenon) and her last name is Obama. Believe me that is all it will take to fill the horde of leftism to mobilize en masse and to elect her. I believe there has been a fundamental change in the political landscape that began back when Bill Clinton became POTUS. Politicians themselves are no different. What has profoundly changed is the electorate itself. The left side of the electorate population has become accustomed to instant gratification while simultaneously it has developed a taste for amoral, violent, expediency. In short the electorate has embodied the vey qualities we dislike so much and were embodied in the politicians themselves - more or less. The cynicism of The Little Prince has found its way into the hearts and minds of the folks who call themselves, Liberals, Antifa, SJWs. Of which they are anything but "Liberal" and they are formidable practitioners of Fascistic activities and they are not "Just" in any way shape or form. Just as Donald Trump himself became "electable" (which was unthinkable until a few short years ago) so too will be Michelle Obama. You think her husband caused Chris Matthews to feel a "thrill go up his leg" wait until you see how he (Matthews) goes into orgasmic spasms at the thought of - First female, black POTUS Michelle Obama! @chuckpo

@iThink, first you just explained what I was saying better than I did. Gave it a lot more detail. And, your version is scarier. Thanks, hahaha. Now, I'll have nightmares. Second, I wonder if you're not overstating the case for fascism a little. I don't think I believe they're intentionally fascist. I think they're ignorantly fascist. I think they are THAT naive. Other than that, I think I'm in complete agreement with your comments.

I am flattered. The things as I see them are indeed scary - terrorizing even. In my old age I have come to expect the very worst of people (and then hope to have been wrong). The election of Donald Trump has really developed into what I call a happy accident. - who knew? I don't think I am overstating the "fascism" content at all. Take a look at not only the masked rioters bashing heads and destroying police cars, burning buildings, tossing urine filled containers at people but also their tactics of doxing, showing up en masse at the homes of people they "hate" and threatening sponsors of certain News programs. Take a look at how people in Hollywood of all places are NOT able to speak openly about their "conservative" ideas for fear of losing their livelihoods. They do everything they can to get people fired from their jobs, kicked out of college, and generally isolated and shunned for having "the wrong point of view". Fascism is defined by the practice of shutting down oppositional thought and speech. I don't know where you live but try walking about with a MAGA hat on your head or with Trump Train stickers all over your car. See how long before someone attacks you for wearing the hat and tries to damage or totally destroy your car. That fear - fear of being attacked is precisely the object of Fascist principle. Shut down dissent! Attack and kill dissenters if and when you can! No I don't think I am overstating it at all. @chuckpo

@iThink, I didn't say fascism doesn't exist. I said it did. My point is they're not intending to be fascists. Their behavior is derived from ignorance, and probably a lack of respect for fascist forces--which goes back to ignorance. Emotion and ignorance is a dangerous combination. The left has embraced both as ideals. I think the fascism is born from that.

@iThink Because disagreeing with or shutting down fascists is the real fascism.

I don't know. They've sort of just gone to 'evil' directly--Kavanaugh and Barr, Trump a given. If the left pursued crime like they pursue conservatives, everybody would be too afraid to commit crimes.

1

Haven't noticed, but I'm not a great consumer of MSM news

4

Shhhh......it's almost election time. Don't remind the masses of the insanity of the progressive left

I agree. Changing there message would be the wisest move.
