Just wanted to let you know that we added a way you can see posts that were removed from groups either by the group moderator or by being flagged. Prior to now, these posts were showed up only on the posters profile page. We want to give the posts more visibility in an effort to make things more transparent. It's understandable that content de-grouping might upset some members that advocate the ability to post anything anywhere but there are trade-offs with anything. We are also trying to be more hands off and let moderators have more control of content. To view the posts, look for "De-grouped posts" category in the group dropdown (desktop) or "+More" button (mobile).

Thanks, there are good ones and don't fit so that is great for odd and mix.

I've noticed a lot of off-topic posting, and I think that's not a good thing. I think members should try really hard to honor the group topic. A few people have created GENERAL groups, so that members don't have to force their topics into groups that don't fit. I'd like to see us merge the general groups together, but I don't know if the other groups actually see value in doing that. I'm a bit surprised this hasn't happened, because the group system as a whole would be defeated by members choosing to post everything in a general group. Organic behavior leading to change is pretty interesting, so we'll see how that goes.

I really value this site at this point. It will be interesting to watch how it evolves--not from an admin perspective, but organically.

@CanuckAmok, I noticed that one too.

@CanuckAmok, that's pretty much the point of my post. We have to more clearly define the structure of the site, and moderators will need to be pretty persistent in educating members about what's appropriate in their group. I actually think @admin is the moderator in that group. He may need to turn it over to someone else. I know he called for moderators, and I've kind of sat back until the organization was sort of formalized. I'm not sure if he got any response for moderators. My advice would be to hash out the design, articulate where you want to go, and when the plan is clear in your mind (admins), then solicit help. Essentially what's happened is the members have recreated the general section and defeated the group system anyway. And, that's because there's not a clear structure.

Just think a thank you is in order to the core group and admin on IDW community. You've built a very much needed and appreciated site. There will be complaints no matter what you do and don't do and I think you have done a great job. No ideology, no religion, no political system no social media website can please all people all the time. Personally I love IDW...hope you stay around for a very long time.

I agree you can not please everyone it's is a can not do when you run a company even more so, the goal has to be to provide a service to serve to the best of your ability to your customers, without damage to yourself and new and old customers the same. I believe this was a great move, the ability to self police is still a must, as is self control don't read what you think may ofend you. Thank you IDW
