Is it time to take a knee on the Superbowl?

The Superbowl, being held again today, was once an event to unite people of all backgrounds and levels of interest in sports. People looked forward to get together with friends to watch top athletes compete in one of the clearest examples of meritocracy. Today, after years of being a venue for political activism, some of the glimmer of professional sports have been tarnished. Is it enough for you to turn away? What do you think?

I will (or did depending on when you vote)...

It's funny really.

The people on this site are hysterical about BLM "burning down cities" etc

But then they are also hysterical about a man briefly kneeling.

Basically there's no way they'd allow black people to protest police brutality without objecting to it, any protestation entirely triggers them.

You don’t know what brutality is. Have you lived in Turkey? or even saw the movie Midnight Express? My brother who was a star soccer player was one day accused of stealing from a till. He he was arrested and beaten to almost death for 3 solid days during police i interrogation. Beaten with batons and belts. He was unrecognizable. The real thief was caught but my brother lost his career, the feeling in arms and leg He didn’t even get an apology much less monetary damages. Don’t you dare talk to me about justice !! you little nitwit imbecile!

no body gives a shit about kap. we simply don't care to support a movement of political violence and intimidation.

Hello RobD1,
When you say "we simply don't care to support a movement of political violence and intimidation.", surely you don't go defending the Capitol riots, or do you? Several people died during the riots.
For example, Brian Sicknick, a Capito Police officer, died the day after he was overpowered and "beaten by rioters" from the mob at the Capitol. He had been “physically engaging with protesters” and was struck in the head with a fire extinguisher.
