Reading requests

I am looking for this lovely conunity to suggest some new reading material, i have been studying sociology arguing amongst the lovely gender debates on the side of scientific knowledge. I want some community suggestions for good reads to take my mind of that minefield or help develop new arguments ?

Here are ten thinkers who could be combined to design a blockbuster survey course on contemporary culture. I guarantee no university will ever consider such an offering because the authors’ perspectives — while based on experience, evidence and fact — clash too brutally with the the dominant “woke” point of view.

Steven Pinker, Enlightenment Now and The Better Angels of Our Nature
Douglas Murray, The Strange Death of Europe and The Madness of Crowds
Heather Mac Donald, The Diversity Delusion
Thomas Sowell, Discrimination and Disparities
Anthony T Kronman, “The Assault on American Excellence”
Greg Lukianoff & Jonathan Haidt, The Coddling of the American Mind
Theodore Dalrymple, Spoilt Rotten: The Toxic Cult of Sentimentality
Amy Chua, Political Tribes
Jonah Goldberg, The Suicide of the West
Stephen Harper, Right Here, Right Now

Love to hear recommendations from you or anyone else. What are you reading?

I recently purchased soft cover books written by Kurt Schlichter - Collapse, Indian Country, Peoples Republic and Wildfire. All short novels - not what you'd call great fiction writing but extremely well written and prescient. Action novels. Main character is Kelly Turnbull.
Fun reading material for almost anyone who loves the American experiment, the US Constitution and who believes in the necessity of true liberty fought for and won and earned with the blood of true patriotism.
In his books Schlichter has painted a very stark and plausible picture of life under the rule of Socialist Democrats who have split the USA into two opposing "nations". On both the east and west coasts lie the territories or States belonging to the "Peoples Republic". In the middle midwestern parts of the country lie the so called "Red States" - the real United States of America that still lives according to the principles of the US Constitution.
As I said - very fun reading - and real page turners.

Nice little collection to work my way threw
Thank you

A very good starting place would be "How to Read and Why" by Harold Bloom and "The Western Canon" also by Harold Bloom. Here are some links:

Most people neglect the Great Philosophers, in favor of the extremely thin modern publications. Try Plato, Aristotle, Socrates, Aesclepeus, Kant, Niestsche, Camus... You will learn what almost no one else knows today, and how these wise people described human nature better than anyone today.

Have been re-reading homer at this time as finished Plato collection and Hume, I agree though as reading seminal works is not enough people need to go back and learn more on classic Philosophy.
