You have to implement policies and programs before you know their results.
Unfortunately, a lot of people are unable to change their world-views and policies even after the results are in - and they are bad.

The Democrats have been doing that since Wilson, and perhaps even earlier.

@GaryMysels I was thinking of "trickle down" fiscal policy in order to spur growth - or of deregulation of the financial market, even after the collapse of 2008-2009...

Regarding, "You have to implement policies and programs before you know their results."

No, not exactly. We have enough detailed records of enough different types of governments in a wide variety of societies that we can be pretty certain of at least some results well in advance. For instance, we know that socialism & communism bring misery and death, whether it's in Russia, Czechoslovakia, Romania, Germany, China, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, Cuba, Venezuela, or any of a number of countries on the African continent. We should make every effort to learn from those tragedies and resist any who want to enact similar policies here.

@Wordmage The problem is that some do, while others don't. People like you and I have studied and learned things from history. Others, especially the young, don't do that. Instead they listen to modern leftist propaganda, which often SOUNDS good. They accept the lies and stupidity, not able, or not making the effort to think for themselves.
