In a secular society, there should be no need for blasphemy legislation as there is no direct association between church and state. The safety of all individuals within that society is however the responsibility of government.Violence or incitement to violence towards individuals or groups shouldn’t be tolerated.

Are Western Democracies that have "hate speech" laws free? Because, yeah, you could be prosecuted in Canada and Europe for stuff you say.

The only country that is truly free is the US. The US is the only country that doesn't have hate speech laws (or their equivalent in Muslim countries "blasphemy laws" ). In the US, even burning the flag, which is offensive, is protected under "free speech".

In Canada, a young man with mental health issues went to jail for 5 months for writing on public benches with a marker, "No more Muslims".

@Kristian Definitely not. Because "hate speech" laws are always subjectively defined and implemented, there will always be double standards. It is not fairly applied to all people. Muslims are a protected class because they are perceived by our betters to be a beleaguered minority.
