LINK Overwhelmed UK hospitals cancel non-emergency operations

Been an ambulance driver for 15 years and have NEVER had to wait 15 minutes for an emergency department to take my patient:

>>Department of Health guidelines say ambulance crews should be able to hand patients over to hospital staff within 15 minutes of arrival at hospital.

Why are people still surprised when things like this happen in countries that have socialized medicine??

It's impossible to give an unlimited amount of services with a limited amount of resources.

Supply is only limited because of the monopoly your government legislated. Allow private hospitals and open markets and supply will increase and prices will decline. You could still have a "free" system for whatever people you wanted to cover. Presto Chango! No more shortages.
