Corruption is endemic in the Puerto Rican culture, so it is no one's responsibility but theirs to live with their consequences, and learn that integrity is their only way out. It will cost a lot before they learn it, and it may take generations, but the US constantly baling them out will only institutionalize their corruption.
Speaking of corruption, lately it seems we have our own lessons to re-learn in the US.
We have never had any business in Afghanistan. That is Russia's back yard, and no more a place that we should be than Cuba a place where they should be.
And what moron somehow missed that the greatest nation in the World was utterly defeated in Afghanistan 150 years before the Soviets went there, and the Soviets were also essentially defeated there after that. What kind of stupid hubris thought it would end well for us - especially after being humiliated in VietNam???
