Why do we never hear Muslims challenged about separation of church and state when asked if Islam supports democracy ?

We never hear Muslims challenged because the media and politicians have made it so anathema to question anything about Islam. Everyone has become afraid of being labeled "islamophobic" (as though that's a bad thing) that they don't dare to ask any logical questions or request any evidence for people's outlandish and unsupportable claims such as "Islam is the religion of peace."

Because Islam is their government . And by the way the constitution does not separate church and state , it has been interpreted that way and become the law of the land but it is not what it says : Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof, or abridging the freedom of speech or of the press, or the right of the people peaceably to assemble and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

How can Muslims support democracy when the main tenant is separation of church and state. Should this not be supported by anyone in congress?

Let's start challenging them more then perhaps?

We try to argue things they can refute this is something that can’t agree to without admitting Islam needs reforming
