Two sides of the corporatist sheckle.
Building the wall is not a popular Republican position (when running Trump was mostly alone). The idea of President Kamala invoking Emergency Powers to implement a socialist takeover has me hoping our courts close that door firmly. Congress must be hammered back into a functional shape.
So the Republicans who call themselves the small government party is supposed to support a move to expanded executive power so the government can partake in a boondoggle wall project where it will purchase a large amount of private property through eminent domain while we are running up a large deficit. What ever happened to the Tea Party?
It was disheartening to see this during the shutdown as well. The missed opportunities to explain that the primary roles of government are to secure our rights and our borders, with all else coming second. If the government can’t act on those issues than it doesn’t deserve to exist. That’s the real “national emergency”, rogue government that has forgotten its purpose.
I also didn’t see many pointing out how our private food banks were doing the job people tend to think we need government for. How they fed an extra million people for over a month without federal $ backing them.
If the right was more effective in these areas of messaging we would stand a lot stronger.
