Private companies such as facbook, Twitter, Youtube, Instagram etc are not required to uphold the first amendment of the United States. They are PRIVATE COMPANIES, therefore they can amend their user agreements and/or ban people as they see fit. Nothing to do with the Government.
You are correct about the application of the first amendment. You are incorrect about the relevance to government. Big tech decided that the GOP and DJT MUST BE DEFEATED BY ANY MEANS REQUIRED, and they exploited THEIR first amendment privileges to accomplish that end.
@pbuck0145 I don't agree. Big tech just sided with the loudest voices ... the squeaky hinge gets the oil right?. It was a financial, not a political decision. These companies care about one thing ... money. And right now, the money is in backing the left. The funny thing is that said companies are actually hard core , unfettered capitalist institutions and as such they don't care about rights, truth or fairness. There's a lesson in this right?
